If no - I would really like to know how to make this work. But the VSTi I use in Reaper doesn't seem to notice that and only uses the first sample it finds.Īfter trying multiple free ones I really want to know - is it completely impossible to make a soundfont usable in a DAW, so that it sounds just like it would when you convert a midi? FX - Brightness is actually composed of ~8 different sounds with a few additional effects. Using a Soundfont editor you can immediately see the problem. Suddenly the sound is completely flat, sounds small and doesn't have a sparkle at all. Now I load a soundfont VSTi in Reaper and choose the sound for Brightness. It's bright, full, loud and has a sparkle. So I write my midi in Sibelius or whatever, export it and use a converter. I want to use the converter sound that corresponds to the midi sound "FX - Brightness". mid with a soundfont converter sounds completely different than what I get in my DAW. I've tried multiple VST instruments that claim to make. I'm trying to get some soundfonts to work in Reaper, mainly Timbres of Heaven.
